Blurb: You know that stray cat that keeps hissing and screaming at you every time you try to pspspsps and show it love? That's Hizen.
Hizen is a tired, depressed, prickly, blunt, and generally unpleasant sword spirit struggling with being a person and having emotions. He assumes everyone is always looking down on him or doesn't really like him and even though he genuinely wants to change and be a better person, he believes no one will ever believe him or give him a chance. He's emotionally stunted in the way non-human characters can be and considers himself as nothing more than a tool for killing. Hizen is highly food and drink motivated so just keep giving him food and sometimes say nice things to him and he will eventually share the melted KitKat from his hoodie pocket.
He does have a bit of a gremlin streak and will bully/tease others if he thinks they deserve it. Also, I guess sometimes his personality flips and he goes from a depressed small mammal to a confident and aggressive punk. When he's like this, he runs his mouth, he smiles, he laughs, and he does whatever the hell he wants.
→ PLOTTING
Plans: First month goals! Hizen actually gets really anxious and grumpy around animals because, in canon, they can sense he's a killer/predator and become uneasy around him. Despite his poor past, he's actually very proud to be a samurai's sword (even if it's of low rank). Farmwork is going to make him bristle because he thinks it's going to set him "back" and people are going to look down on him. If anyone wants to help him get over his anxieties here, I think it'll also be a good way to get some of his lore. Otherwise, I don't really have huge plans with him aside from just getting him settled in and building up CR.
Seeking: ❀ Positive and negative CR are fine! ❀ Someone that will convince him the animals here aren't going to hate him instantly ❀ Someone that will convince him that no one is going to look down on him if he has to do farm work ❀ People who can tease and bully him because he's very reactive and easily flustered ❀ People who will give him food/drinks because it's the easiest way to win him over ❀ Anyone that will help him learn how to be an actual person ❀ Friendly/social types! He might grumble but he actually admires people who are genuinely friendly and compassionate ❀ Smart/intelligent characters. Hizen thinks he's dumb but he likes to listen to people who are smarter than him. He thinks they're cool. ❀ Anyone that can get his personality to flip and see his other side
Offering: ❀ A government-assigned babysitter. He will chase you down and scream at you about how you aren't special and everyone needs to work. ❀ A responsible and tired caretaker. He will scold you the entire time but he'll clean your room, make your meals, organize your things, run your errands, and generally do whatever needs to be done. ❀ An easy victim… he is easy to tease and very reactive. ❀ A drinking buddy. Hizen canonly drinks like a fish and has a higher tolerance than one might expect from him. ❀ A fight buddy. Hizen's personality actually flips and he becomes feral and caught up in bloodlust when he gets into a real fight. If your character likes to bully or tease, I have one (1) very reactive and easily flustered victim. Hizen is also a government-assigned babysitter and can chase people down and yell at them to do work. ❀ Slow burn CR… he's slow to open up to people because he has issues. He's that difficult tsundere route in a dating sim.
Avoiding I'm honestly open to everything but he is not going to be jumping into ships or any sort of affectionate CR right away
i'm positive they're going to argue tbh but gaku WILL give him food and drink so there's that at least?? and maybe he can help hizen with being a person since gaku is incredibly normal
i can offer a friendly type who's going to be upset with how hizen perceives himself (which might probably lead to some quarrels at first because noé can be a bit...direct...) and who will try his best to understand him better at the same time even if he refuses to believe hizen is just a tool for killing >:(
You don't get to tell him how to live his life, Noe. You don't know him!!! But he is welcome to shake Hizen until the lore and snacks come out of his pockets.

i'm here to offer you another sociable/friendly one piece who will definitely want the best for him. uta is a lot more of a brat and less patience than sabo comparatively but opens hands. she will want to turn that frown upside down, for lack of better ways to phrase it.
They can be almost hair twins. It's okay... Hizen has minimal experience with girls so he'll probably freeze and wonder how mean he can be to her before he comes off as too much of an asshole...... meaning he'll probably be a little nicer. Just a little. Consider him an easy victim for her.
no but Otegine will be so happy that out of any other sword that's here, it's a wakizashi. Mad trust 100%, he'll bat for Hizen from day one.
I hope they can take some time to complain about being used for farming with one another this first month... Otegine doesn't know Hizen (again) but at least they keep their spirit sense this time?
