i hope these two will be some level of friends (this is a problem with ellis) and i think it'll be funny, because ellis primarily writes/texts (no phone) to get his message across and asuka can't read

asuka completes his first bingo card, goes to the goddess "CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE IT WHERE I TOUCH WRITING AND IT GETS READ ALOUD" "asuka why don't you just practice reading" "BUT WHY WHEN MAGIC"

but they can definitely be friends! asuka will make faces and complain about having to read so much and mouth the words as he struggles along but we do not leave people out just bc they're different!! he will be very shounen protag at ellis about friendship being real no matter what type it is :')
