Blurb: If Hizen's the local feral cat then Otegine is the local dumb dog.
Otegine is the spirit of one of Japan's Three Great Spears, who's still getting his sea legs on having a human body and emotions. He's used to a pretty sheltered life where he was loved but used more for political parades than as a weapon, which means he spent more time in storage than on a battlefield. Combine that with him just being made to pierce rather than slash and dash like other weapons, and he's pretty convinced the only thing he can do well is stab, if he ever gets the chance!
He's simple, kindhearted, amiable and eager to work hard, and while he can be a little whiny when his low self-esteem gets challenged, he craves praise and to be something useful to someone. He just needs to work on flexibility and confidence... and not insisting he's probably gonna be medicore at everything. He has some slight memory/trauma issues due to being lost in World War 2, but I have a blurb on my journal permissions about that if anyone needs more info!
→ PLOTTING
- Plans: Nothing concrete for this first month other than just solidifying some CR and figuring out dynamics! Otegine is not the brightest in recognizing his feelings so it might be a slow burn for anything specific. The first month will be toughest since he ICly is known to whine and drag his feet with both farming AND livestock, simply because he doesn't think he's made to do it, let alone to do it well... but given some practice he will Learn.
He is going to have a feud with the farm horse from day one. Maybe they'll compromise someday. (Please help him not be so scared of the horses.)
Seeking: - General CR starters, I'm fine with both positive and negative!
- People to tease him. He is so easy to tease, he is clueless and old and a little slow. Very easy material, please go wild.
- Shiptease CR this month is fine if you're liking the dynamic of our threads and kind of wanna see where it goes, just be advised its gonna likely be a slow burn. He has one single brain cell and it's working very hard but not always to realize what emotions are happening to him.
- Someone to spar with. Even without his weapon he is going to get a little antsy not being able to spar.
- Someone please teach him how to cook... he misses the rice cooker already. ):
- PLEASE someone teach him that the horses aren't out to end his career. He is very, very wary of horses - not phobic, and he knows how to ride, he just doesn't understand them and is probably going to get kicked in the ribs without some help.
Offering: - Very tall man at 192 cm, therefore he can do very tall man things. A free ladder. Need someone to slam their head onto your doorways? He's on it. He can help climb trees. Easy bingo check off.
- Very easy for positive CR, he is rather gentle and upbeat if not a little nervous.
- If you want dumb awkward situations and need a player 2, please... hmu. He will always try his best, but he is a good choice for well-meaning but dreadfully stupid shenanigans.
- He has nightmares quite often. It's fine. It means he'll be around for late night threads at times, though, if people want to take advantage of that.
Avoiding I want to do some build up before any smut options, please! Not against it, he just is not a good or easy option for people that wanna get to the smut bingo right away. This could change, but I'll play it by ear.

Hello roomie, I hope Otegine does not mind sleeping with a night light (Syrlya is the night light).
They'll just have to use sticks to spar or something, in between trying to figure out how to farm (and... cook). Syr is at least going to attempt so he may be, in fact, the one dragging Otegine into that.
